Description
The Washington Project A.P.E. Cache is turning 20!
To celebrate, Shop Geocaching, Cache-Advance, and the Washington State Geocaching Association (WSGA) collaborated to make a special geocoin to commemorate the milestone.
One of only two of the original APE caches still remaining, GC1169- Mission 9: Tunnel of Light was hidden July 18, 2001, and originally placed by Moun10Bike and Jeremy. It was part of a Planet of the Apes promotion, and originally contained a torch from the movie. It is found in the rugged, snow-capped Cascade Mountains, just a short drive from Seattle. To find it, cachers can walk through a retired railway tunnel: the spooky two-mile-long Tunnel of Light.
The 20 Years of A.P.E. Geocoin is trackable at Geocaching.com with a unique icon.
This special Shop Geocaching version features the four colors of the original Geocaching HQ logo.
Dimensions: Approximately 2 inches in diamter.
